Frequently Asked Questions
-
Faith formation is more than sacramental preparation—it is an ongoing journey of discipleship. Children should participate each year as they grow in faith, deepen their relationship with Christ, and become more active participants in the life of the Church.
Families should be registered parishioners at St. Mary Magdalene or receive permission from their home parish.
-
Parents are the primary educators of their children in the faith. Families should expect to participate regularly in Mass, review lessons and prayers at home, attend Parent Discipleship opportunities and Sacrament Workshops, and actively support their child’s faith journey. Faith formation works best when parish, parent, and child journey together.

-
Students are assigned to a specific class to help create consistency, build community, and maintain appropriate classroom sizes. Because of staffing and scheduling limitations, students generally cannot switch classes mid-year or attend another session as a make-up.
